I think that was probably Sajak on the net out of Saigon. I took Da Nang local at 8 or 9AM and that was all R&R.  Then our country show was 12-1PM (Can't remember his name), then back to R&R at 4 with Frank Holler.   But different Dets didn't necessarily have the same programming  schedules - so depenebds on where up-country (and my falling memory) I guess.

When I was up-country...March, 1970 perhaps...I heard C&W music in the 6:00 AM hour. Don't know if it was a "program" that was prerecorded and shipped in...or done live.

Thank you all.  At the moment I've discovered that Corporal Dan Zeigler practiced as country specialist in Saigon.  There were at least six country programs: Town and Country, Country Corner, Swinging Country, World of Country Music, Country Caravan and History of Country Music.  I also found that Rick Bednar was the commentator of Town and Country during 1968.

Hi,

Thanks for accepting my request.  I'm making an investigation about country music in Vietnam.  Anyone could help me to find the names of the Town and Country DJs?

Some were live, some were on vinyl from the States.  The idea was to give equal time to the major formats as the age differentials were so varied.  Of course young men 18-24 of all complexions made up the vast majority.  Also remember that in the mid-late 60's and early 70's country, soul and RR were all mushed into Top-40. So the rock format as we know it now is so much more narrowly-programmed just because of the sheer number of stations and demos.  There were dedicated hours to the three major.  Top-40, country and MOR.  Plus, of course, propaganda (delete, delete, delete) or news.
