Dick,

Good find. It doesn't claim to be complete and probably no one can create a list of everything, but only 3 incidents in my time there...Mar '69-Mar '70?  That seems light.  I recall a couple of rocket incidents that are not recorded, and probably more.  One of our guys got a Purple Heart in an AFVN studio ceremony for taking shrapnel in a terrorist grenade.  I would consider the list a minimum of incidents, but a good list nonetheless.

Guys, our war will never be completely accurate like many because we left so much behind.   I have been helping a producer who is working on a TET special for the Smithsonian channel.  He kept asking me if we had tapes of our newscast.....and movie star interviews.  I explained mostly what we have is what we brought out in  our luggage.   Good reason to support Sgt. Major all we can.  Our network right now has got to be the largest collection of AFVN stuff in the world.  Our state history museum has asked me if they could copy everything I have including photos....because there "Vietnam collection" is so lacking.   Share what you have with Jim before it is too late!  Dickie

Dickie, Thanks for the heads-up and the possibility of more work.  Appreciate the first, and will do my best with the second.  Jerry Nelson is proving to be a good learner and helper.

Dickie,

A most ingenious excuse.  I don't think that contacting your State History Museum requires any technological skills beyond knowing how to use an country party line crank telephone.  If they say "No," that's OK.  If they say "Maybe" or "Yes," then tell me how to contact them--particularly by email.

Dickie, Apologies for the delay in writing this.  You mentioned that your State History Museum wanted to copy all you had because they lacking so much.  Along those lines, would they be interested in eventually somehow hosting our entire site?   So far, all expenses are out of my pocket but someday I'll be wearing a shroud and I understand that they don't have pockets. Thanks, Jim W

Sgt. Major, You honor me sir....but I don't know anything about computers.  I don't even have a cell phone.  I never had any children so I have never even played a video game.  I have this I-pad and a computer at my office and that is all I know.  I will help in any other way...but the computer age passed me by!!!!    Best wishes to you....thank you for being our voice of reason.

Rick-Fred,

I looked at the website for the Vietnam Security Police Association and found it.  They are mostly Air Force I think and guess what....they have a reunion scheduled for October 4--8  at San Antonio, Texas.....we ought to sign up for it!  I an helping a film producer in California put together a Tet Special for the Smithsonian Channel....and found it on Google.  It verifies the dates of our TV station bombing and other attacks near us or we observed ......
