Randy,
I needed a copy and requested a DD 214 through a congressman whose office gave me a runaround, since I live on the border between two districts, the request was made though another congressman and I had two copies, with a raised seal in a couple of weeks.  Guess it depends on how good your rep. is at constituent services.

If one goes on-line and prints out a SF 180.  That form will give all instructions for obtaining a DD Form 214.

Steve,
None of my Japanese diet menbers (= members of congress) have much clout with getting a DD 214.  That is why I directed Randy to the website--not to a personal connection.

Randy,
He should be able to get a copy by going to https://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records and following the instructions.

Hi,
A few months ago, someone was kind enough to send the link to get a copy of one's DD 214.  I have been asked how to get that form by a youngster applying for a Presidential appointment to the Naval Academy.   He asked his father for a copy, and the dad does not know where any of the copies are, so....he needs to get a new copy.  Can anyone send me the link.
Thanks,
Randy Kafka
