I've never heard of this either. Good find Steve. Wonder if McCain has ever commented on this?

I am with Rick. Never knew about this. Will forward it to a POW from my unit and get his reaction.

My pilot friend responded to whether he was aware of this saying,  "Nope. Not aware.  Probably won't believe it without seeing the referenced footage."

If Dean Rusk admitted it in an interview, in my opinion, how much more confirmation is needed? I f pilots were aware of this, I wonder how many of them would have refused to fly?  I can't believe pilots had any knowledge of this.  I also wonder about the potential for lawsuits on behalf of pilots who died, were injured or imprisoned because of this?  In theory the warning notices may have appeared to have merit to some fuzzy thinkers, but once it was revealed that the "warnings" resulted in US casualties, they should have been immediately discontinued.  To continue would appear to have been conscious and deliberate aid and comfort to the enemy, in short treason.

PROBLEM with this book "None Dare Call in Treason."  I had to read this book in government class in HS.   I was shocked at some of the quotes from the Congressional Record.  Since I worked at the public library i looked them up - had to look them up on paper in the 1960s.  The quotes were not in the Record. After I looked up a few I blew the rest off - I no longer had the time or interest to look up the rest.

The MIDWAY Docents, many of whom flew missions into North Vietnam, including a few guests of the Hanoi Hilton, told me after this afternoon's shift, they all knew after the end of the war and the POWs came home. Yes, they are pissed after seeing the CNN piece when it aired and they were debriefed at headquarters.

I had a similar experience with the book in HS.   An algebra teacher was a John Birch Society member and insisted that we read it.  I took it home to do so.  But when my father saw it,  I learned my first important lesson in journalistic inquiry.   After doing some research, I too put it aside.

The attached recently came across my desk, previously unknown to me.  This is absolutely astounding.  One would think that Washington would have realized the error of what they were doing after a couple of episodes.  But in spite of mounting casualties, Washington kept passing target information to the enemy.  My question is why?
In 1968 I was interviewed on radio in NY by Barry Farber and said the war would be lost in Washington, not on the battlefields of Vietnam.  Farber was astounded, time proves I was right,
